Jacks Fork Farmsteads Parcel N
Introduction

7.85 acres - $47,100
Monthly payment - $477.72
You will probably not find a property similar to this one on today’s market. “Surely,” you’re thinking, “the Ozarks must have several bajillion hill-tops offering long, inspiring views capable of making grown men drop to their knees overcome by momentary rapture.” You would be right about that. You would also be right in saying that there are many, many small parcels of land for sale in the Ozarks on any given moment. The thing is, that nearly all of those many-many small tracts of land currently for sale are covered with either forest, or The Poor Man’s Forest, i.e. brush. That’s because forest occurs naturally on unmanaged land. Oh, it may take a few generations, during which panorama-clogging brush rules, but forest is inevitable in land left unattended. As you’ve perhaps noticed, nearly all the small parcels of land on the market, were cleaved from larger forested tracts, or in the case of the really poor-quality stuff, from recently timbered property, i.e. brush. This parcel, on the other hand, along with its neighbors, comes from a large cattle-ranch being divided, so the whole property is currently in pasture with only a few scattered trees. That’s why you have the awe-inspiring view: there’s nothing to block it. If you’re into raising livestock, or horseback riding, or if perhaps you’d like to have and maintain your own private, three-hole golf course, owning a property like this 7.85 acres might just be the cure for what ails you. I’ve tried to imagine a home perched on this high ridge. What keeps coming to my mind is a gothic castle in the style of 15th Century Transylvania, with turrets, and parapets, and a moat… but your family may prefer something a bit homier and easier to heat. |

Driving Directions to Locate Jacks Fork Farmstead Parcel N:
From Willow Springs, drive north on State Highway 137 exactly 9.0 miles after you pass the city limits, the property begins on your left. At the top of the next hill and before you begin down the long downgrade to the Jacks Fork, you'll see the entrance on your left. Sorry, we don't have any markings. Follow this road through a concrete cattle guard and you're inside JFF. Now follow the road to the bottom of the hill. There's not much way you can go wrong here, but just to be sure, it's a little less than 4/10ths of a mile to the small creek. Parcel N begins on your right a quarter-mile after you cross the creek. (Caution: We do not have signage up yet.) |
